Happy December 1st!!! This is THE treat recipe you need to make this season for your family or friends. You can use your favorite cinnamon roll recipe or follow the one I used below which is my moms 🤍
1. Dissolve the instant dry yeast in the warm water and set aside for 10 minutes to proof. 2. Melt butter in microwave. Warm milk in microwave. Combine butter and milk in a large bowl or standing mixer bowl. Add the yeast and a beaten egg to the mixture. Mix well until combined. 3. In a separate bowl mix together the flour, sugar and salt. Slowly add into the wet mixture while mixing. Once combined, knead the dough on low speed for 2 minutes or with hands until the dough pulls apart from the bowl. Cover loosely with a towel and leave on the counter to rise for 30 minutes to an hour (until doubled in size). 4. Preheat oven to 400F. Once the dough has risen, push it down to get the air bubbles out. Lightly flour a surface and take the dough out of the bowl. Gently form into a ball and cut evenly into 4 pieces. Roll each piece into a circle. 5. Combine ingredients for the filling in a small bowl. Spread evenly on each rolled out dough to every edge. Stack one on top of the other then cut into a 16 piece pie shape. 6. Take 2 pieces and twist them away from each other twice then pinch the ends of the dough together to form your snowflake. Repeat until all pieces are twisted. Once finished, bake in the oven for 20 minutes at 400F. 7. While baking, combine ingredients for frosting in a bowl. Use a standing or hand mixer to mix until smooth. Set aside. 8. Take the snowflake out and let cool at least 20 minutes. Frost, add powdered sugar and enjoy!
